I have done four Winterail shows. The first, on the Reno Branch (2003), was done with slides and I do not have a digital copy. The other three are here:
This is an extended version of the Winterail show, with an epilogue added in 2015 (tenth anniversary of the opening of the trench). Some small errors in the narration of the original show have been corrected with captions. Even the narration of the epilogue is now outdated: the UP now runs much longer trains, up to 15,000 feet (4500m), through Reno.
I have come to think that the tone of this show was too complimentary to the Deutsche Bahn. This may have been justified in 2013, but the DB has deteriorated significantly since and if I were making this show today, I would not be so laudatory.
A compilation of some of my best rail photos since my first one in 1968.
Note that I did not take all the photos in the first two shows, although I did take about 90%. I took all the photos in the last show except for one historic Alfred Hart photo near the end. All of my photos from these shows will eventually be posted in the gallery.
These shows are .exe files and must be viewed on a Windows computer; they cannot be viewed on a Mac unless it has a Windows simulator. The files must be downloaded before viewing. They are copyright and are for personal use only; they may not be shared and must be deleted each time after viewing.
Some other slide shows I have assembled and shown over the years. Most have no narration (I generally narrated these shows live).
This is an extended version of a Winterail Pizza Party show in 2023, with more of my favorite photos there wasn't room for in the Winterail show.
The primary interest of this show is that the photos were all taken on one day.
A whirlwind summary of my week in Colorado.
